The Myth of Happily Ever After
iParent - What do you do with Halloween?
It’s that time of year again. The stores are filled with costumes, candy, and characters from the dark side of our imaginations. Our family takes a fairly dim view of both the day and its trappings. We’d rather do our grocery shopping without the boys until after the end of October just to avoid ghoulish exposure. But many Christian families take their kids out trick or treating, believing that it’s just innocent fun. I would simply ask, Is it BEST?
iDo Marriage - A Defense Against Resentment
What a busy time of the year! School starts for our kindergartener. Prep for school starts for mommy. New schedules emerge. Life takes over... kids, work, church, school… As we are looking for our new normal, keep in mind that our spouses need to be a priority.

Becoming an Elijah Now Insider
Since the founding of Elijah Now we have traveled across the country sharing our story of God’s
transforming power in marriage. We believe that as people Connect with God they begin
Experiencing Joy in their families and continue to grow by Embracing Community with other
believers. People are responding with enthusiasm as we share what we are learning.

Clay Feet
As people of prophecy most of us have heard the story King
Nebuchadnezzer’s dream in Daniel chapter 2. The multi-metal statue in the
dream was pictured standing on feet made of clay and iron mixed together.
Contrasted with the rest of the statue, the feet were fragile. From that
prophetic image has come the saying, “we all have feet of clay.” According
to wikipedia, “The analogy is now commonly used to refer to a weakness
or character flaw, especially in people of high station.”

Praise
A while back I decided it was time to sell our house.God didn’t want us to live in an unfinished house with a mortgage over our heads. I brought this to my husband and said it was time to simplify our lives. We started looking for property. We found some real fixer-uppers, which appears to be the kind we are attracted to. We started to talk about it together, and I started throwing up roadblocks to my own ideas. They were starting to scare me.

501(c)(3) Status Update
The ministry of Elijah Now has taken a major step towards sustainability recently by filing our application with the IRS to become a recognized non-profit organization. The IRS could take from 3 to 6 months to process our application. We just found out from our accountant that we can accept tax-deductible donations in anticipation of our approval! This means that we can take donations and then issue the tax-deductible receipt when our application is approved.
